Increasing demand for feed-additives that release active constituents slowly
There are, internationally, increasing problems with pathogenic bacteria, especially such as are Gram+ and anaerobic.
The problems are accentuated by the withdrawal of the dangerous antibiotic growth promoters from the markets, but also by the growing awareness of the environmental dangers that the use of heavy metals as additives in feeds cause.
The Norgano product line encompasses a number of products, based on different botanical elements – a.k.a. phytobiotics or phytogenics – with different active properties, so targeting different problems; all the products in the line are releasing their active constituents slowly, meaning that they are released late in the animals’ digestive system.

The includsion of high doses of zinc oxide in piglet feed
There is currently a lot of focus on the use of high doses of zinc oxide to reduce and treat post weaning diarrhoea in piglets. It is allowed to include a total 150 ppm Zn in piglet feed without a prescription, and a total of 2500 ppm Zn, when prescribed by a veterinarian. However, there are several disadvantages of adding high amounts of zinc to piglets feed, including environmental problems and zinc- and antibiotic resistance.

Products included in drinking water – and how to keep the water system clean
Administration of a product via the drinking water can be carried out faster, simpler and often also cheaper than it can by including the same product in the feed. However, depending on the type of product supplied, it will, to a greater or lesser extent accelerate the production of biofilm in the drinking water system.
